New Reviews and Other New News

I guess there hasn't been much new on the FBN front recently; basically I've just been putting the finishing touches on some of the video masters and extra material for this Unearthed NTSC DVD release I think we've finally got a solid release slot for very early 2007, which pleases me immensely.

Also, Andrew as Horroryearbook.com just posted his review of FBN where he suggests that I stop sending this movie out because it's doing bad things for my career, "thesis student film garbage," something like that. I like that he selected the pitchfork baby photo for his review, though.

jrhfilms.com goes live

There's not much there and it still links back to the main FBN website, but http://www.jrhfilms.com is now a working URL which I hope to expand within the next year as this project I'm working on grows. Unforunately I think I'm going to have to scuttle the larger things I want to make (like Mutations) in favor of something smaller, similar to FBN in it's scope but with a little more weirdness and maybe some more skin.

M. J. Simpson Interview

Well here we go again. Simple questions but nevertheless enough rope to hang myself with the M. J. Simpson Interview.

M. J. Simpson Review

While I can spare a moment I thought I'd post a link to M.J. Simpson's new FBN review, where he seems slightly baffled by the film.

FBN Imaginary Quad

I got bored some time ago and decided to attempt a kind of longer size FBN, more in keeping with the dimensions of a UK Quad but still, well, not, because I think the actual dimensions of a Qaud are much shorter than this poster. Still, I like.

There's a larger version of this poster on my website hidden away in the "multimedia" section.

From what I hear the AFM went well for cult or weird-ish items but I think many of the larger productions were having difficulty selling.

FBN at the AFM and such

The American Film Market started on November first and runs to the eighth. Unearthed Films/Anthem/Cine-Sales is representing FBN at the AFM for foreign sales along with a number of recent cutting-edge independent film such as Pervert! and This Hollow Sacrament along with Frank Henenlotter's new film currently in production, Bad Biology. I feel very privileged to be in this company and I hope all goes well.

I think I've just barely recovered from shooting that interview video last weekend. Basically, I went outside and set a bunch of plastic on fire in the mid-afternoon. The specific orientation of the sun in the sky combined with the trees and the voluminous white smoke looked very pretty to me. It was pretty toxic as well but that's okay.

FBN Video Interview

I shot a nearly 25 minute-long interview today about the making of FBN. Here's the end of it, which maybe doesn't make a great deal of sense when taken by itself but is nonetheless kind of pretty in a certain way.
